PCPC Direct Hosts Microsoft Release Party, Oct. 2

PCPC Direct is partnering with HP, Microsoft, and Cluster Resources to host High Productivity High Performance Computing on October 2, 2008, at the PCPC Direct headquarters in Houston, Texas. The event begins at 11:30am with a buffet lunch and a keynote speaker. Following lunch, Cluster Resources will host a breakout session and present Moab Hybrid Cluster on PCPC’s hybrid boot cluster.

Beta Testers for Moab 5.3 Needed

Cluster Resources is seeking beta testers to test the latest version of Moab, scheduled for release this fall. This version of Moab includes an integrated database for Moab statistics. If you are interested in becoming a beta tester, submit a trouble ticket through our support site here.

Did You Know: ‘mdiag -S’

The ‘mdiag -S’ command is used to present information about the status of the scheduler and grid interface. This command will report on the following aspects of scheduling:

General Scheduler Configuration
High Availability
Scheduling Status
System Reservation Status
Message Profiling/Statistics Status

Using the “mdiag -S -v” command will provide additional stats, such as the total number of job starts, job start rates, poll interval stats, and information about object limits and peaks.

Online Training Sessions

Cluster Resources provides live interactive demonstrations to show how easy it is to evaluate Moab. These demonstrations go into detail about the tools that make the evaluation simple and effective.

Part 1 of the training covers the use of Moab in a cluster environment, as well as the following areas: Moab architecture, installation, diagnostics and troubleshooting, admin tools, end user tools, and testing modes.

Part 2 of the training details Moab in a grid environment, including information on grid autonomy, credential remapping, and other grid-specific capabilities.
